Full-size feel behind the kit
The Catalina EVO uses full-size shells, giving you an electronic setup with familiar acoustic-style proportions. You get 10" and 12" rack toms, a 14" floor tom, 14" snare, and 20" bass drum, all finished in Black Sparkle. Gretsch 3-ply True Rebound mesh heads are fitted to the toms and snare, providing a realistic playing feel while retaining the practical benefits of electronic drums. The shell pads also feature dual-zone head and rim triggering, giving you more playing options without complicating the setup. And with the included Explorer hardware pack, hi-hat stand, and single pedal, the core hardware is covered.
Detailed sounds with room to customise
With more than 500 multi-layer sounds, the Catalina EVO module gives you plenty to work with. Its Gretsch recordings include round-robin and ambient samples, helping repeated strikes respond with added variation and detail — particularly useful when you want electronic drums to react naturally to your playing. There are 50 factory kit presets ready to use, plus 128 user preset locations for building your own configurations. You can also import WAV samples into 128 available slots. For further sound shaping, each channel provides a pad compressor and three-band EQ, while four independent effects blocks cover ambient samples, instrument reverb, room reverb, and multi-effects.
Expressive cymbals across every zone
The included EVO cymbals give you three-zone triggering across the bow, bell, and edge, so different areas can respond to different parts of your performance. Their entire 360-degree surfaces are playable, meaning you don't need to keep cymbals fixed in one particular position to access their triggering zones. The setup includes a 16" crash, 18" ride, and 14" hi-hat, with choke functionality provided across the cymbals. The hi-hat includes its controller and bottom cymbal, while the supplied Explorer hi-hat stand gives you a familiar physical setup. Low-noise playing surfaces also help keep acoustic noise down during electronic practice.
Connect, record, and practise your way
The Catalina EVO module gives you flexible connections for home practice, recording, and more involved setups. Bluetooth Audio and MIDI handle compatible wireless connections, while USB-C provides Audio and MIDI connectivity. The configurable USB audio interface offers eight outputs and four inputs, and a stereo USB WAV recorder lets you capture performances directly to a flash drive. You also get main outputs, four direct outputs, a mix input, and two headphone connections. For day-to-day control, the Gretsch E-Drum Remote app connects wirelessly or by cable and provides both module control and coaching features, giving you another way to manage practice sessions and settings.
