12 String Guitars provide an incredibly rich and complex tone as well as a natural chorus effect to the guitar thanks to the extra 6 strings. On a 12 string guitar, the additional 6 strings are traditionally tuned one octave higher than the standard strings.

This gives the guitars a richer, fuller sound suitable for a variety of musical styles.
