Key Features
Cutting-edge microphone modelling technology. The Antelope Audio Edge Duo Modeling Microphone is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone with a dual-membrane design.
The Edge Duo employs the latest microphone modelling technology, virtually turning this one microphone into many. The modelling technology emulates the sound of classic and sought-after mics. It allows you to capture the essence of iconic microphones from past and present.
The microphone itself features a dual-membrane capsule with two separate XLR output channels. It provides a smooth and rich sound with a natural frequency response. The Edge Duo will capture every nuance of your source audio, with exceptional detail and clarity. The dual-membrane allows the mic to emulate the on and off-axis response of each microphone for multi-dimensional modelling.

The Edge Duo features a specially-designed dual-membrane capsule. This custom capsule design feeds two separate XLR output channels. This allows you to achieve true multi-dimensional mic modelling. It works by accurately emulating the on/off-axis response of each microphone.
At the heart of the microphone is a low-resonance body housing the six-micron gold-sputtered dual-membrane capsule. The resulting sound is rich and organic, with smooth highs and a pronounced low-end. The wide frequency response and low-distortion design captures your source audio with exceptional detail.
This high-end modelling microphone allows you to tap into sounds from the past and present. The Edge Duo is designed as the perfect source to model any vintage cardioid-pattern microphone.
The Edge Duo comes complete with a range of high-grade microphone emulations. It features 11 mic emulations in total, comprised of some of the most sought-after microphones from music history. The emulations are designed to make your recordings sound like they were recorded on various classic microphones.
For example, using the Berlin 47 FT emulation, you can achieve the authentic sound of one of the most popular microphones in history. The emulations range from classic vintage microphones, to modern-day mics. The mic comes complete with 11 mic emulations ready to use, but an additional seven mic emulations will be available for the Duo soon.
The Antelope Audio Edge Duo microphone is designed to be used with Antelope Audio's Discrete preamp interfaces. The interfaces feature FPGA Accusonic modeling. The software features detailed real-time emulations of classic condenser microphones. The software allows you to choose from an array of different mics to perform with. The Edge Duo microphone can accurately emulate different polar patterns, off-axis response, and proximity effect, allowing you to get a different range of tones from one microphone.
What sets the Edge Duo apart from everyone else is that it runs real-time on the FPGA. This means you can audition different microphones, and switch between them in real-time. It is especially handy if you already have a singer or performer in the recording booth, but don't want to keep changing microphones. Using the Accusonic 3D modeling software allows you to switch between different microphones, and microphone preamps.
Building on the success of the original Edge microphone, the Edge Duo has a new visual identity, with its contemporary style design. The robust all-metal construction uses the highest quality components to achieve the studio-grade audio performance. The integrated mesh grille helps to protect the condenser capsule and other components.
The Edge Duo microphone also comes complete with a premium-grade shock mount and pop filter, designed to minimise plosive and sibilance noises. This helps to improve the audio fidelity of your recordings. It also includes an oxygen-free copper Y-cable specially designed for the dual-membrane capsule.
