Derived from the design of a traditional upright piano, this elegantly slim Yamaha Arius YDP-S51 is encased in a black cabinet which has both functional form and an attractive finish, well suited to both classic and contemporary interiors. The folding key cover protects the keys, looks extremely smart and also serves as a music rest whilst the three sturdy, metal pedals are precisely positioned to achieve optimum comfort when playing.

Thanks to the Graded Hammer Standard keyboard, the Arius YDPS51 has an exceptionally natural key touch. The lower notes have a heavier touch than the higher, lighter-touch notes, replicating the feel of a traditional acoustic piano. The YDP-S51 is the first slim-line Arius piano to feature this GH keyboard. This digital piano also gives you the option to vary the touch sensitivity of the keys to match your playing style or finger strength. The piano sound is created by Yamaha's 'Pure CF Expression Engine' which has already earned high praise in the renowned Clavinova range. This technology allows you to enjoy a playing response and expressive capability beyond your expectation of a digital piano.

The built-in instrument voices closely recreate the sounds of acoustic instruments - from the powerful lows to the delicate highs. The built-in soft, sostenuto and damper pedals give you added variability of sound, including 'half-damper' effect replicating the delicate nuances of an acoustic piano. The new technology known as 'Acoustic Optimizer', which is unique to Yamaha, is responsible for the YDP-S51 being able to produce such authentic sound from such a compact instrument. It enriches and controls resonance by physically adjusting the flow of sound waves. The combination of this Acoustic Optimizer and Yamaha's digital technologies gives the Arius YDP-S51 an incredibly expressive capability.

Yamaha have pre-set 50 songs into the YDP-S51, providing classic piano pieces for play-along or practice sessions. The 'Intelligent Acoustic Control' automatically adjusts the piano's sound so you can still enjoy balanced, rich tone when practicing at low volumes. For silent practice a headphone connection socket is also provided. Duo mode enables you to split the keyboard into two replicated halves for tuition and duet playing and the metronome function helps newer players keep time. To play along with your own recording as a duet, use the built-in 2 track performance memory. The 128 note maximum polyphony ensures you won't lose notes even when playing denser pieces whilst the MIDI and USB capabilities provide a wealth of connectivity options.

Courier Delivery

When you add this product to your shopping basket, you will be provided with our standard courier delivery option free of charge, which is a 'to your door' service. You may need to help the delivery driver as this product comes packaged in large boxes!

This option may not be suitable if you are unable to help the driver if required, or if you need the piano delivering upstairs but you don't have anyone else available to help. Please consider whether this is the most appropriate delivery service for you, as other delivery options are also available for an additional cost.

2 Man Delivery Service

If you select this option, two delivery personnel will deliver the piano boxes to any ground floor room of your choice, rather than just your front door.
