The Mod Rex is split into four modulation sections, letting you use each one individually or combined to create an incredible array of expressive soundscapes. You can also select which LFO and tempo subdivision each section has - perfect for completely customising your tone.
The mod section gives you access to four different effects. You can switch from the vibrato's modulated pitch effect, to the rich, resonant sweeps of a flange. You can select the lush, warbling chorus to give your sound an exquisite doubling effect or pick to give your performance a modulated phase shifting phaser effect.
Trem provides you with a classic tremolo effect, while pan modulates the sound between the right and left speakers in stereo setups. If you use the pan section while in mono, it acts like the tremolo section but inverts the wave shapes. The filter section is similar to the mod section, offering three filter modes to create different effects.
Another great feature if your using the Mod Rex in a stereo setup is the R INV buttons on the mod and filter sections. Engaging these will invert the LFO in the right channel, letting you give your mono input a stereo effect.
To provide you with even more control over the pedal's modulations, you can set your own tempo to sync up with your other devices or experiment with to find new sounds. You can set the tempo with either the tempo knob, tap footswitch, or by connecting an external expression pedal. You can even sync the tempo with external devices via a MIDI clock or external pulse clock.
If you set the tempo via the tap switch, all the LFOs will automatically adjust to match your tapped in tempo. This is perfect if you like to tap away while playing but find your modulations going out of sync.
If you already have a rig that's controlled via MIDI, then simply connect the Mod Rex to your system via the MIDI output and you're away. You can even automate the EHX Pedal's functions and changes via MIDI, letting you focus on delivering a stunning performance.
