The Martin D-1 is a USA-made dreadnought acoustic guitar offering the powerful projection, balanced response and understated styling associated with Martin instruments. Manufactured in Nazareth, Pennsylvania during 2002, this example carries serial number 869887.

Its solid Sitka spruce top is paired with a solid mahogany back and laminated mahogany sides, producing a warm and focused tone with clear note definition. The full-sized dreadnought body delivers a strong bass response and plenty of acoustic volume, making it particularly well suited to strumming, flatpicking and vocal accompaniment.

Martin's A-frame X-bracing and mortise-and-tenon neck joint provide a stable, responsive construction. An East Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge complement the comfortable neck, while the satin finish gives the instrument a natural appearance and smooth playing feel.
